Volunteers needed at Lincolnville Community Library

Jan 13, 2014

Lincolnville — Anyone interested in volunteering at the new Lincolnville Community Library is invited to a meeting Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. at the library at 208 Main St. in Lincolnville Center.

This will be a time for people to learn about the various ways they might help and for library staff to hear what potential volunteers are most interested in doing.

The library is scheduled to open in its new home in the renovated center schoolhouse the beginning of February. The plan is to be open 15 hours per week and have a variety of programs, such as a book discussion group, a meeting time for seniors and a children’s story hour. The library will also sponsor workshops on everything from digital technology to gardening and traditional crafts. Volunteers will be needed to help with these programs as well as with staffing. There will also be opportunities to help with book sales and other fundraising projects.
