Quantam opens electric dance party

Vistas reunion at The Speakeasy

May 05, 2014

Rockland — Experimental electronica duo Vistas made quite a splash a few years ago and have been missed of late. Vistas will play a reunion show Saturday, May 17, starting 8 p.m. at The Speakeasy, 2 Park Drive (beneath the Chowder House). The electric dance party will be opened by Quantam, the original electronica artist also known as Jason Dean.

Vistas is the electronic audio collaboration of musicians Joshua Nagle and Owen Cartwright, who met at college and later began playing experimental electronic music. They were known for the wide variety of acoustic and electronic samples used in their arrangements, creating rich and vibrant combinations of rhythms and melody pulled from all musical genres. The combination of Cartwright’s background in music composition and jazz coupled with Nagle’s meticulous attention to production sparked a collaboration full of ingenuity and presence whose presence has been missed around the Midcoast.

There is no cover for the electric dance party. For more information, call The Speakeasy at 596-6661, ext. 606.
