Vinalhaven man sentenced to eight years for sex crimes
Rockland — A 22 year-old Vinalhaven man will spend eight years behind bars for sex crimes against a child.
Nathaniel S. Small pleaded guilty in Knox County Superior Court March 5 to seven charges against him, including two charges of gross sexual assault, four charges of unlawful sexual contact and one count of visual aggression against a child.
Small will be on supervised release for 30 years after serving prison time.
The crimes occurred during the summer of 2011, according to court documents.
The female victim, 6, told family members about the incidents a year later, in 2012, according to court documents.
Small was arrested in August 2012 after an investigation by Maine State Police Sgt. Jason D. Richards.
