Filling building blocks are, from left, Cassie Smeltzer, Elizabeth Flannagan, Aliah Lovejoy and Dacey Holland; with Ella Grant as Skin Horse, Aja Quintal as the Clown, Sophie Robbins as the Jack-in-a-box and Somerset Ganz (seated) as the Velveteen Rabbit.

Waldoboro — The Medomak Middle School Drama Troupe will present “The Velveteen Rabbit” Thursday through Saturday, March 13 through 15, in the Ronald Dolloff Auditorium of Medomak Valley High School, Manktown Road. Performances will be at 7 p.m. with an additional Saturday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

The show is a stage adaptation of Margery Williams’ beloved book. The show’s book, lyrics and music are by Barnes Boffee and Paul Pilcher, with additional music by Bob Love. The MMS production is directed by Nancy Durgin with set/tech director Libbie Winslow, student choreographer Ella Grant and costumes by Linda Grant.

Tickets at the door will be $5. There is a Saturday dinner theater option, thanks to the eighth grade’s fundraising dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the adjacent middle school. The $8 combo ticket covers dinner and a show, with the choice of either the 2:30 or 7 p.m. performance. Cost for dinner only is $5, $15 for a family.
