Variety of courses at RSU 40 adult ed

Waldoboro — Exercise, CPR and beekeeping are among the options in upcoming classes at Regional School Unit 40 Adult Education Program

Join Certified Personal Trainer Stacy Nash for this full body exercise ball workout. The class is core-strength based – learn to find, use and improve upon core strength. All ability levels are welcome. Begins Monday, March 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. for six weeks.

A Pediatric CPR course will show participants how to recognize the signals of a cardiac emergency in a child or infant (birth to age 12), how to care for a heart attack and how to perform CPR. A two-year ARC certification is available upon successful completion. Class meets Tuesday, March 11 and 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

On March 14, a ARC Babysitter Training takes place to provide youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. Target ages for training: 11-15. Successful completion of the course results in ARC certification. Class meets from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A weekend workshop to learn to how to begin keeping bees without chemicals will be held March 15-16. Christine Hemenway, author and owner of Gold Star Honeybees, based in Gardiner, will discuss history, bee biology, hive management and hive health.
