Vandersloot — Moeckel wedding
Camden — Julia Joy Vandersloot and Alexander Steele Moeckel were married Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 4 p.m. in Camden at the First Congregational Church, officiated by Rev. Kevin Pleas. Guests from around the country and as far as England were in attendance.
The bride and groom met at the University of Delaware in a statistics class their sophomore year. The couple currently work and reside in New York City; Julia in marketing at alternative investment firm, Man Investments, and Alex in hospitality partnerships with Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Julia is the daughter of Dr. Dirk Vandersloot and Jean Forest. Their home is in the beautiful coastal town of Rockport. Both have private health care practices in the area.
Alex is the son of Thorpe and Peggy Moeckel, who both attended the University of Delaware and received the 2007 Outstanding Alumni of the Year Award. Their home is in Hockessin, Del. and their work in the greater Wilmington area.
The newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Moeckel, are planning their honeymoon to the south of France and coast of Italy in spring 2013.
