Van destroyed in Camden Street fire
Rockland — A minivan was destroyed in a fire on Camden Street shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21.
The owner of the Plymouth Voyager told the fire crew the vehicle had been having mechanical issues and was leaking transmission fluid, according to Rockland Fire Department Assistant Chief Adam Miceli.
The engine compartment caught fire and spread into the passenger area, Miceli said.
The fire department was on the scene, in front of Bangor Savings Bank, for about 40 minutes, he said.
The vehicle was destroyed. There were no injuries.
