Valliere shines in Harbor Square’s ‘Holiday’
Rockland — The centerpiece of Harbor Square Gallery's “Holiday Exhibit” will be the luminous landscapes of Rockland's own Jill Valliere. The newest member of the gallery roster, Valliere is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and a native of Quincy, Mass. Her training in Venetian plastering, figure drawing and painting has helped to define her distinctive style and her approach to the landscape, in particular.
Also featured in the last show of the 2012 season are new works by Harold Garde and William Crosby; and sculpture by Elizabeth Ostrander, Peter Dransfield and Laura Freeman, as well as Harbor Square's renowned group of designer gold and silversmiths.
All are invited to come see the work and meet the artists Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. Current hours at Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St., are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; occasional Sundays; and otherwise by appointment; call 594-8700.
