USDA assistance for maple syrup producers meeting

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) can assist maple syrup producers with addressing energy conservation through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), a voluntary program that offers financial and technical assistance to producers.

Approximately $250,000 will be available to maple syrup and agricultural producers in Maine in fiscal year 2013 through the energy conservation initiative.  The application deadline for fiscal year 2013 funding is December 21, 2012.

Meetings will be held from 6-7:30pm on:

  • December 4 – University of Maine Cooperative Extension Office, 7 County Drive, Skowhegan
  • December 5 – USDA Service Center, 1423 Broadway, Bangor
  • December 6 – University of Maine Cooperative Extension Office, 9 Olson Road, South Paris
