URock to hold information session on grad programs for teachers
Rockland — University College at Rockland will host an information session Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 4:30 p.m. about the start of two graduate certificate programs from the University of Maine at Farmington. Each of these certificates provides a series of related graduate courses designed to provide a concentrated, cohesive area of study.
The UMF Graduate Certificate in Math Leadership is a four-course series that prepares educators for the challenges of being a mathematics leader, whether as a math coach, a math interventionist, an RTI coordinator, a Title I math teacher or a grade level team leader.
The UMF Graduate Certificate in Administration is also a four-course series that prepares educators to take on roles in school administration.
Each of these certificate programs will begin at URock in January in a "hybrid" format. They will combine three Saturday face-to-face sessions with online instruction over the course of the semester.
Sandra MacArthur, director of UMF educational outreach, will present overviews of both certificate programs at the information session. In addition, she will be asking interested participants about the best scheduling for them.
