SOUTH THOMASTON — All are invited to the annual "Finn Fling" in South Thomaston, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15th. This is an all-day event held at the joint headquarters of our three local Finnish-American organizations on River Road (Rt. 131). These are the "Finnish Heritage House", "Finnish Congregational Church", and the "Finn-Am Society".

The Saturday events start at 9:00 am with coffee & pulla at the Heritage House, along with sign-up for door prizes, raffle tickets, guest book, etc. Jura Hall (next door) is featuring a continuous showing (9:00-10:45 am) of "Old Finn Hall Variety Show". From 11:00 am to noon, the Finnish Church will house a combined concert by the local Kantele ensemble, and the Kantele group from South Paris. From 12:00 to 2:00 pm, a Luncheon Buffet will be served at the downstairs Jura Hall, as well as freshly grilled hot dogs and sausages by Fred Webel, our FHH webmaster and chef. All this will be eventually followed by the awarding of prizes, etc.

In addition to this joint celebration on Sept. 15th, all are reminded that the adjoining "Finnish Heritage House" is open on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, as well as on Wednesdays from 9 am to1 pm.

Also, the "Finn-Am Society"will hold their annual Craft Fair & Bake Sale on Oct. 6th, from 9 am to 2 pm. Additionally, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, and Dec. 15 will feature 1:00 pm Luncheons and meetings...all at Jura Hall.

Be sure to arrive a little early for all events, as local parking is a bit limited.
