Aug 22, 2014
"The Lynx and The Bounty" is a work by Union Art League member Tania Amazeen-Jones.

Union — The Union Art League is making plans for its annual show, “Maine — Pure and Simple," the first weekend in October. Any artist who wishes to display his or her work must be juried into the Union Art League. Those interested are asked to bring two works to the Vose Library, 392 Common Road, Thursday, Aug. 28, at 4 p.m.

Once a year, the Union Art League brings to the Midcoast more than 30 artists and artisans displaying their work in art and sculpture, as well as other media. This is a fine art show, intertwined with masterworks of crafts. A reception Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. welcomes all as the UAL presents several new artists to its juried group.

The exhibition will continue Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event will be held at the Brooder House on Route 17. The public will find plenty of parking, and live music will set the mood for a pleasurable experience.
