Union Area Chamber Event Gives Voters Another Chance to Meet Ed Mazurek

By Knox County Democratic Committee | Oct 08, 2012
State Representative Ed Mazurek

Thursday October 11 the Union Area Chamber of Commerce will offer voters another opportunity to hear and meet their candidates for the Maine Legislature.  The Chamber will sponsor a potluck supper for voters and candidates at 5:30 p.m. downstairs in the Union Town Hall Meeting Room.  At 6:30 candidates will make brief statements after which they will answer questions from the Chamber Board.  After the question period, voters will again have time to talk informally with the candidates.

One Democratic candidate who will attend is Maine State Representative Ed Mazurek, candidate for the Maine State Senate in District 22, which represents all of Knox County except for Friendship, Washington and Isle au Haut.

Also attending will be Mazurek's opponent, Republican Senator Chris Rector.

Both candidates running for House District 52, which represents the town of Washington in Knox County will attend.  Republican Representative Deborah Sanderson of Chelsea is seeking re-election to that seat..

Sanderson is being challenged by Democrat Lisa Miller of Somerville, who formerly held that seat for three terms.

Jeff Evangelos of Friendship will attend.  He is an Independent running in House District 49, which represents Union, Warren, Cushing and Friendship.

All legislative candidates on the ballot in the towns of Union, Appleton, Washington, Warren and Waldoboro have been invited.

Candidates’ Night has a history of being a cordial and informative event.  The Union Town Office is at 567 Common Road, just off Route 17.  For more information about Candidates’ Night, please contact John Fromer at 975-6995.

I would like to make it VERY CLEAR that this announcement has not been sent or authorized by the Union Area Chamber of Commerce. It was apparently the intent of the Democrat Party to promote Mr. Mazurek by taking our information, adding Mr. Mazurek's name in the headline, and m,aking it sound like it was from our Chamber group. Likewise, we do not promote volunteering for either party.
