Danger I Reckon!

Rockland — The Velvet Lounge music series at Rock City Cafe, 316 Main St., will offer a diverse weekend of music to wrap up its February slate.

On Friday, Feb. 22, the Velvet Lounge will present Dave Shaffer, a singer/songwriter from Saco. In addition to his musical talents, Shaffer  is an actor and will be featured as "Uncle Fred Foster" in the upcoming motion picture “Hanover House.”

On Saturday, Feb. 23, Rock City Cafe's Velvet Lounge will present Danger I Reckon! The Brunswick-based trio Brandon Casper, Jeff Cook and Zach Nelson offer a hard-to define but contagious folk, blues, soul-clapping acoustic action … with metal breakdowns.

The music will play both nights from 5 to 7 p.m. As usual there is no cover charge; however, tipping the musicians is highly encouraged. For more information on this and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123.
