Volunteers gathered recently at the Teen Center in Camden to help United Mid-Coast Charities assemble 7,000 annual spring mailings. The group, comprised of representatives of the organizations receiving support from UMCC, completed the task in a little more than three hours.

UMCC celebrates its 70th birthday in August. Since 1942, UMCC has consistently and continuously severed the people of  Midcoast Maine. UMCC has thousands of contributors, some large funders and receives many small gifts from throughout our communities.

"Support for UMCC is an investment in community," says Rusty Brace, president of UMCC, noting that $400,000 was distributed in 2011.

United Mid-Coast Charities is a Camden-based non-profit supporting 50 social service agencies in Knox and Waldo counties. UMCC is an all-volunteer organization, donating  100 percent of funds collected. Businesses are encouraged to learn about UMCC's payroll deduction giving program.
