Warren — A two-vehicle accident in Warren Sept. 25 sent the driver of one vehicle to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said Lt. Kirk Guerrette of the Knox County Sheriff's Department.

The head-on collision occurred at 10:18 a.m. near the intersection of Oyster River Road and Main Street. The driver of a Honda Civic was traveling south on Oyster River, while the driver of a Chrysler Voyager was northbound. The impact occurred in the lane of the Honda and air bags in both vehicles were deployed, Guerrette said. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The female driver of the Honda — carrying no passengers — was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center In Rockport and was alert and conscious when crews arrived on scene, said Guerrette.

Persons in the Chrysler, a female driver and two children, were not injured.

Warren and Thomaston EMS responded to the scene.

The names of the drivers were not released at the scene.
