Two talents combine at Guillerm Gallery

“Sprint II” is a painting by Philippe Guillerm.

Waldoboro — On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., Philippe Guillerm Gallery will open its last show of the season. “Color Exhibit & Surprise Masterpiece” combines a retrospective of the 2014 collection of fun, local and colorful paintings with the unveiling of a surprise masterpiece by French-born artist Philippe Guillerm.

Guillerm’s work includes paintings, sculptures and a vast array of architectural restoration and decoration details. He is greatly influenced by his sailing and biking life, and many local colors and themes. His paintings combine the warm colors of the Caribbean and the very local themes like “The Blue Hands Lobster Man” or the underwater view of lobster buoy “World of Silence.” His sense of humor is revealed by a new take on the “Player Piano.”

The Saturday event is another in a series of multiple-gallery openings including Maine Coast Artist Gallery in Friendship; and Tidemark Gallery and Old Number Nine in Waldoboro. Philippe Guillerm Gallery, 882 Main St., is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 701-9085 or visit guillermsculptures.com.
