Two nabbed for drug charges linked to death
Rockport — Two Bangor residents are being held at the Knox County Jail in Rockland accused of trafficking in the powerful drug fentynal, an investigation that began earlier this month following the death of a person in Rockport.
Melody Paul, 36, and Charles Michaud, 52, were arrested April 19 and charged with Class B trafficking in fentynal. The arrests were part of a joint investigation by the Rockport Police Department and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash each. The charges were the result of a death investigation reported in Rockport on April 6.
Evidence obtained at the time of the death, led investigators to Paul and Michaud. The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are waiting on autopsy results at this time and further charges may be pending, according to Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne.
