Rockland — Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries following a crash that closed Broadway in Rockland to traffic for at least a half hour Thursday morning, Sept. 20.

Brittany Wotton, 23, of Friendship suffered injuries to her ribs and shoulder, according to Rockland Police Officer Lloyd Daniels.

Greg Black, 47, of Rockland had a leg injury as a result of the crash.

Witnesses told police Wotton went through the intersection with Limerock Street at about 10:30 a.m., in her 2007 silver Chevy Malibu, crashing into Black's 1991 blue-gray Range Rover. Black had been headed west on Limerock Street while Wotton was going north on Broadway.

Both drivers claimed to have a green light, but witnesses believed the red light was facing north/south rather than east/west, Daniels said.

Police and Rockland firefighters responded to the crash and closed off the busy street while the wreckage of the two demolished vehicles was being cleaned up.

The injuries were not life threatening. Daniels said no charges were likely to be filed in the case.
