Thomaston — Trekkers is hosting a bone marrow donor registry drive with Be The Match Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stone Coast Crossfit, 321 Commercial St., Rockport.

Alaina Ennamorati, a program manager at Trekkers, was recently matched with a recipient who needed peripheral blood stem cells to continue her fight for a cure in a type of blood cancer. Her donation was anonymous and to an international recipient. The registry drive is in honor of Ennamorati's donation.

Trekkers staff will be at the drive, along with Paul Greenier of Be The Match, to help register donors. Donors should be between the ages of 18 and 44 and should bring their health insurance card. Joining the registry is a quick process and requires a health history inquiry and a cheek swab.
