Trekkers receives donation from Camden National Bank
THOMASTON — Trekkers was recently awarded a grant from Camden National Bank to support the youth mentoring organization as it begins the third year in a multi-year program expansion aimed at serving twice as many students across a six-community area.
“Trekkers is grateful for the ongoing support received from Camden National Bank, especially now as we continue expanding our program and serve more students,” said Executive Director Don Carpenter. “Camden National Bank shares our devotion to the youth in our community, and we are grateful for how they invest in local programs, such as Trekkers. We cannot thank them enough for supporting our students through this generous donation.”
Rockland Branch Manager Connie Sawyer said, “Camden National Bank is delighted to participate in this important project. The bank has a long history of providing financial support to organizations such as Trekkers in the communities in which we live. We appreciate the exceptional work that Trekkers does and wish them the greatest success with their efforts.”
Trekkers has been serving area youth since 1994. The program connects seventh- through 12th-grade students with caring adults through expeditionary learning, community service and adventure-based education. In the coming year, Trekkers will serve more than 180 students from the communities of Regional School Unit 13. For more information call 594-5095 or visit trekkersonline.com.
