Travel adventure Feb. 20 at Rockport library

Rockport — As part of the Rockport Public Library's adventure travel series, professional trekker, Kim Bannister takes guests on a travel adventure to the Himalayas to explore the region and learn about its amazing sights and people.

Working with Project Himalaya, Bannister leads seven to eight treks per year to places like Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and Mongolia.

A veteran Himalayan trekker, she is also the founder of Kamzang Journeys, which specializes in "off the map: treks and travels in the Himalaya — Nepal, Tibet, the Indian Himalaya and Bhutan — and other nearby destinations.

During this special evening event, Bannister will share her personal experiences leading these expeditions and her connection to the people of the region.

The adventure travel series is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
