Cable television’s Travel Channel will air two specials in which Rockland’s lobster trap tree makes an appearance this month. On Sunday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m., the tree shows up in “Jingle Brawls,” part of a competition that pits such holiday phenomena as the singing choir Christmas tree of Muskegon, Mich., against the Midcoast’s own trap tree. There is voting involved with “Jingle Brawls”; to vote for the Rockland tree — in a Choir vs. Crustacean match — visit

Another program, “Xtreme Xmas,” will be aired Sunday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. and also includes the Rockland tree.
