Toughcats

Portland — Toughcats, the Americana/pop/rock trio from the Fox Islands of North Haven and Vinalhaven, have a new album coming out July 1 and are on a tour to introduce it around New England.

Midcoast fans can catch Jake Greenlaw, Colin Gulley and Joe Nelson in performance Monday, June 30, at 7 p.m. via WCSH’s “207” show. The following day, Toughcats will be at Bull Moose in Portland (12:15 p.m.) and Brunswick (6 p.m.).

“Rough Ones,” released by Royal Tar Records, captures Toughcats’ succinct and deliberate arrangements, along with their raw, garage band intensity. It makes its way from banjo-driven instrumentals to ‘70s-sounding power pop. “Rough Ones” can be pre-ordered at toughcats.com.
