TONIGHT IN BELFAST: U.S. Weakness in a 21st Century World: Will Asia and China rule?
Is this the end of America’s heroic age? Will China’s communist technocrats dominate the world?
Join Prof. Seth Singleton on Wednesday, February 1st at the Belfast Free Libraryfor a discussion on “U.S. Weakness in a 21st Century World: Will Asia and China rule?" The event runs from 6:30-8PM and is free and open to all.
This talk will outline some of our present difficulties - the budget deficit and national debt; declining incomes, unemployment, and inequality; mediocre education; corrupt politics; denial of the common good or the public interest - and will suggest remedies, some of them radical.
Then we will consider how American foreign policy must change during a period of national revival, or what will happen if no revival occurs.
In a country which increasingly divides populists and plutocrats, what are the chances that effective action will be taken? Open for discussion.
