Hope — Singer/songwriter Ellen Tipper will play a benefit concert Saturday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at Sweet Tree Arts, 4 Church St. All proceeds from the evening will support Appleton Village School’s eighth grade class trip.

The AVS eighth grade class is raising money to spend three exciting days sailing on the schooner Mary Day, a Maine Windjammer tall ship captained by Barry King and Jennifer Martin.

Tipper will play original songs from her two album releases, as well as several new songs, two of which were recently recognized in a national songwriting competition. She will be joined by Appleton eighth grade singers, and the concert will open with a performance by Hologram, the acoustic student band from Appleton that won the 2014 Trekkapalooza battle of the bands in January.

Suggested donation for the event is $10 for adults, $5 for children. For more information, visit ellentipper.com.
