Three Select Board seats open in Rockport

Incumbents running for Select Board, Budget Committee

Rockport — Nomination papers are currently available at the Rockport Town Office for three seats on the Select Board to be filled at the June 13 election.

Two of the seats are now held by Geoff Parker and Chairman Bill Chapman, both of whose terms end in June. The two seats each carry a three-year term. Both Parker and Chapman have taken out nomination papers for reelection.

The third Select Board seat is for the remaining two years of Brendan Riordan's term. Riordan resigned abruptly from the Select Board April 12.

There are three openings on the Budget Committee for positions currently held by Thomas Murphy, Stephanie A. Kumble and Heaven Bartlett. The term for each of these seats is three years. Murphy, Kumble and Bartlett have each taken out nomination papers.

Brooke Kehoe has taken out nomination papers for a one-year term on the Library Committee to fill the unexpired term of Stephanie Lash following her resignation.

There is one opening available for a three-year term on the Library Committee, for which no one has taken out papers. The position is currently held by Paul Charbonneau.

A three-year term for director of SAD 28, to serve concurrently on the Five Town CSD School Board, is available. The seat is currently held by Faith Vautour.

Candidates are required to collect at least 50 signatures and no more than 100 for consideration. Nomination papers must be returned to the Rockport Town Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 28. The election is Tuesday, June 13.
