Thompson's Variety in Waldo Becomes Weaver's Roadside Variety!
Anita Hills, owner of Thompson's Variety in Waldo sold her business and real estate to Matt Weaver of Waldo. It didn't take long for Matt and company to make the transition to the NEW, WEAVER'S ROADSIDE VARIETY. Within minutes of closing, Matt was hard at work with family and friends changing the interior, setting up new stock and greeting vendors to come in and stock the shelves and coolers. Within 48 hours the store reopened with a fresh look and Matt behind the counter. Weaver's Roadside Variety will be open 5:00 - 9:00 Monday through Saturday and 6:00 -8:00 on Sundays. Weaver's Roadside Variety is a tagging station so stop in with your deer!
Congratulations to Anita on her sale and many thanks to her family, Claude and Lois Littlefield who ran the A&J Market in Belfast for years. A&J was named after their 2 children, Anita and Jeffrey. (Son Eric wasn't born yet.) They eventually sold to Irving then purchased Thompson's back in the 1990's. Anita bought the store from her parents after working it for many years. The Littlefield family has been an icon in Waldo County servicing our early mornings, lunches, and late night needs with their county stores for decades. Many thanks to you all.
Be sure to visit Weaver's Roadside Variety and welcome Matt and his staff as they begin their new venture. They are offering gas and diesel, full deli, pizza, lots of new sundries and specialty items. All The Best! Thank you from Fran Riley and Roland Littlefield, owners of United Realty!
