Thomaston woman arrested for driving drunk with infant in car
Thomaston — A 27-year-old woman was arrested May 3 for operating under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child.
Ashley E. Wellman was arrested shortly after midnight when she was initially stopped by officers for traffic infractions and then discovered to have been drinking, said police.
She was pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign and not using a turn signal when she drove onto Knox Street from Fish Street, said Thomaston Police Sgt. Tim Hoppe.
Police said Wellman had been drinking, and her 1-year-old son was in the vehicle.
She was released on $1,000 cash bail from the Knox County Jail May 4.
