Thomaston — On Nov. 14, the Thomaston Public Library welcomed new head librarian, Ann Hoffmann Harris.

Harris has many years experience at the Fremont County Library System in Lander, Wyo. Her experience at the Fremont County Library System, which covers 9,000 square miles, prepared her for Maine-style library operation where everybody handles everything: collection development and management, programming, cataloging, public relations, and technical support.

With their offspring away at college, Harris and her husband, Richard, had the luxury of choosing the location for their next life adventure. Having lived in Maine twice in the past, they were eager to spend more time here and had relocated in August 2012.

During her varied career, Harris has also spent time as a technical writer, information analyst and hospital unit manager. She will be working with Joanna Hynd, Thomaston children’s librarian and interim acting head librarian, as well as a talented and committed team of staff and volunteers.

For more information, contact Harris at the Thomaston Public Library, 354-2453 or visit thomaston.lib.me.us.
