Thomaston — Between 45 and 50 human walkers of all ages, as well as two canine participants, enjoyed a beautiful spring morning strolling through tThomaston April 27 as they raised money for the Thomaston Food Pantry and the local Meals on Wheels program.

Three churches — the Federated Church in Thomaston, the Thomaston Baptist Church, and St, John's Episcopal Church — sponsored the event, and Cub Scout Pack 215 showed up in force to support the walk.

Walk coordinator Karen Wincapaw reported that $2,217 had been raised thus far, with a little more money still likely to come in. Walk organizers hope to hold another walk next year and involve even more people in this community endeavor.
