Thomaston — Every 10 years the town updates its Comprehensive Plan to reflect changes in the town and to help it plan for the future. Components of this plan include population, housing, employment and economy, transportation, community services, natural and marine resources, recreation, fiscal capacity, and land use.

The Thomaston Comprehensive Plan Committee has developed a survey designed to gather input regarding these topics from Thomaston residents and businesses for guidance in the 2017/18 update of the plan. It is hoped every household and business will participate.

Copies of the survey will be available by Feb. 25 online at http://town.thomaston.me.us/public/, at the Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., or at the Town Office in the Watts Block, 170 Main St. Copies may also be obtained by calling the Town Office at 354-0617. Everyone on the town email list will automatically receive an electronic copy. The survey should be completed and returned as soon as possible. Arrangements can be made for personal visits, if requested.

In addition, the committee plans to hold several targeted public meetings in the upcoming month to gather information and to answer questions about the survey.
