Thomas S. Lawry
Rockland — Thomas S. Lawry, 60, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Sussman House in Rockport after a period of declining health.
Born in Rockland Oct. 8, 1956, he was the son of Milton W. and Kathleen R. Proctor Lawry. Educated in local schools, he was a 1974 graduate of Rockland District High School.
Thomas worked at several jobs before beginning employment with FMC Corp. in Rockland, where he worked more than 20 years. More recently, he was employed with Oak Island Seafood until retiring due to ill health in 2012.
In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling in local leagues and playing in men’s softball leagues.
Thomas was an extremely generous man, always willing to help his friends and neighbors whenever he could.
Other than his parents, Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Charlie Lawry, in 2015. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Lucier and his wife, Dawn, Jesse Lucier; a brother, William L. Lawry; a sister, Ruth N. Gagnon, all of Rockland; grandchildren Brianna, Mazlyn, Morgan, Tylar and Mkayla, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland, where a celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4. A reception will follow from noon to 2 p.m. at the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Post No. 1, 335 Limerock St., Rockland.
