The Pike Company of New York is lead general contractor for Walmart
Thomaston — The Pike Company, a Rochester, N.Y.-based construction company, is the lead general contractor set to build a 150,000-square-foot Walmart superstore on Route 1 in Thomaston, said the company's Project Manager Jim Pencavage.
The construction company plans to work with 12 to 15 local sub-contractors to complete the project, he said, although the company has not secured those deals yet.
He added that 60 to 65 people will be employed by the project — not including managerial and administrative positions.
The estimated start date of construction is early October and is tentatively scheduled for completion in late July 2013, according to Pencavage.

This is a familiar story about construction starting but we are getting there. I want to see yellow bulldozers, loaders and other big construction equipment in motion. I want to see red and white 10 wheelers moving in and out. I can't wait to see concrete being poured and poured and poured.
Come on Jim Pencavage - let's get a wiggle on. The Lovely Mrs. Kinney and I cannot wait to buy our groceries in Thomaston. A little faster if you can stand it.
Welcome to Midcoast Maine Pike Company.
