The joy of trees at Harbor Square

Jan 07, 2013
"Acadia Morning," an oil on canvas by Midcoast artist Donald Rainville, is on view at Rockland’s Harbor Square Gallery.

Rockland — Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St., is exhibiting several paintings by Donald Rainville of Camden throughout the winter months. Current hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., occasional Sundays and by appointment.

Included in the Rainville selection is “Acadia Morning,” to date the only work Rainville has ever chosen to execute on canvas rather than his usual recycled panel. The chaotic order of trees in community is evident here, as always. Educated as a forester, Rainville's uncanny understanding of his subject has become his trademark.

For more information regarding Rainville’s and the gallery’s other work, call 594- 8700 or visit harborsquaregallery.com.
