Citizens for a Green Camden
Citizens for a Green Camden is a group of concerned citizens providing information to eliminate the use of poisons on our lawns and gardens. The goal is to inform and educate our neighbors about safe alternatives which produce beautiful green and healthy spaces.
The Award of Merit award Citizens for a Green Camden received from the EPA for their efforts at a ceremony held Earth Day 2009 at Fauniel Hall in Boston.

Can anything be more satisfying than a fertile carpet of green grass? How about a healthy landscape that features less lawn and beautiful plantings—all grown without the excessive use of pesticides, fertilizers, and water! Whether you've been wringing your hands over Japanese beetles or you're tired of slaving away on your lawn, YARDSCAPINGis for you. Join the growing number of Mainers who have decided to change their yard care ways—for the health of the environment, people, and wildlife.

Green Sneakers is a door to door neighborhood outreach weatherization promotion project ( sponsored by Maine Partners for Cool Communities), with pilot programs coming up in Camden, Rockland and 4 Portland neighborhoods.
The goal is to spread information about how home owners, of any income, level, can reduce their energy use, by themselves or hiring help, and what state help is available. This is with the understanding that the less energy we use, the less greenhouse gases, the more savings with rising fuel prices, the greater feeling of security in hard economic times.
