The First, N.A. opens second branch in downtown Rockland

Rockland, Maine – Daniel R. Daigneault, President and CEO of The First Bancorp, recently announced that The First, N.A. has opened a second banking office in Rockland at 63 Union Street.  In addition to the bank’s 132 Park Street branch, which opened in September 2001, there is now a convenient downtown location to serve customers banking needs. The First now has fifteen branch locations in four Maine counties, from Wiscasset to Calais. 

“I am pleased to announce the opening of our second Rockland office. We are proud to be enhancing our commitment to the people who live and work in Rockland, and we are also delighted to welcome two new members of managerment and four staff employees into our banking family. I encourage everyone to stop by and say hello to our team at 63 Union Street,” said President Daigneault.

Jake Miller has joined The First as Vice President and Branch Manager of the 63 Union Street branch.  Miller began his career in banking in 1998 after receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine Farmington.  He joined MBNA in Card Services and worked in the Camden, Rockland and Belfast offices for over eight years.  In July of 2006, Miller went to work for Bank of America as the Branch Manager of their Rockland location where he has been building relationships with customers in the market for the past six years.  Jake is a native of Camden and currently resides in St. George with his wife Laura and four sons, Silas, Sam, Zeke and Ezra.  He enjoys volunteering in his community and spending time with his family.   

Alicia Costa has joined The First as Assistant Branch Manager of the 63 Union Street branch.  Costa started her career in banking in 1999 as a teller with Fleet Bank.  She worked her way up through a variety of customer service positions, and in 2006 she joined Bank of America.  Alicia is a Union native and currently lives in Warren with her husband Terry, one dog and four cats. 

Completing the 63 Union Street team are: Viktorie Mathiau, Customer Service Representative; Lacey Wilshire, Customer Service Representative; Phoebe Carlson, Vault Teller; and Doria Morrison, Teller.

Customers at 63 Union Street will find all of the banking products and services that The First is known for, including: Totally Free Checking, free online banking and bill pay, free iStatements, free mobile banking, free coin counting machines for customers, early-open drive up windows, a statewide fee-free ATM network, and local lending decisions.  Everyone is welcome to stop in and say hello to the staff.  Lobby hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm, Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Drive up hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am – 12:00pm.
