The Camden Hospital for Animals Welcomes New Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Kristina Mainella!
The Camden Hospital for Animals is pleased to announce that Dr. Kristina Mainella will be joining our staff in August! Kristina and her two boys recently moved to Camden from Nobleboro. Dr. Mainella will be taking appointments 2 days a week. Dr. Contakos, Dr. Laurita and the staff at the Camden Hospital for Animals are very happy to have Dr. Mainella join the practice. Please help us in giving her family a warm welcome to the Camden-Rockport area!
Kristina Mainella completed her undergraduate education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Science in Speech. She majored in theatre at Northwestern, and after graduation continued to pursue her theatre interests in Chicago, before moving back to the east coast in 1992. In 1993, Dr. Mainella moved to Maine, and received a degree from the Downeast School of Massage in Waldoboro, Maine. As a licensed massage therapist, Kristina had a private practice in southern Maine for several years, before moving to Massachusetts, and receiving her DVM degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts. After graduating from Tufts, she worked in a small animal practice in Pittsfield, MA, before moving to Maine in 2003. Since her move to Maine, Kristina has worked exclusively in small animal practice. She has recently relocated to Camden with her two children, Louis (9), and Vincent (7), along with their two dogs, a cat, two hermit crabs and a tortoise named Poohbear. Kristina is thrilled to be joining Dr. Contakos and her staff at The Camden Hospital for Animals.
