Teachers, Creatures play benefit dance

Rockland — Just Teachers and Creatures of Habit will perform a benefit dance Friday, March 28 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Rockland Lodge of Elks, 210 Rankin St.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Teen and Young Parent Program of Knox County. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. To purchase tickets, or inquire into special accommodations in order to attend, call 594-1980.

Eclectic cover band Just Teachers’ members teach in local schools by day and include John Dow, Ian McKenzie, Matt Smith, Lucas Benner, Adam Bullard, Piet Lammert and Nick Blais. With Midcoast roots planted in the 1970s, Creatures of Habit has earned the reputation as a popular dance band, known for entertaining audiences for fundraisers and community and school gatherings.

The Teen and Young Parent Program is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that has been in the community since 1989 with a mission to support young parents and their children through the involvement of caring volunteers, mentors and home visiting parent education.
