Anna Sweeten will share her work and a spot of tea with visitors to Rockland’s Harbor Square Gallery Sunday afternoon, March 2. Pictured is her "IS;and Farm."

Rockland — On Sunday, March 2, Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St., will host a tea for artist Anna Sweeten at 3 p.m.

Sweeten is a master painter in the media of egg tempera, acrylic and watercolor, and has been a core artist at Harbor Square Gallery for many years. Several new paintings will be featured within the current collection.

Sweeten’s primary inspiration is landscape, but her still-life studies also share the certainty of composition and controlled use of color and texture. Soft atmospheres of the sparsely populated flatlands of her native East Anglia, are intimately woven with the similar environment and moods she has discovered while exploring Midcoast Maine with her husband Guy.

Both Anna and Guy Sweeten will be at the gallery to share tea and conversation.
