Taylor at Strand: canceledUpdated
Rockland — The Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., had planned to kick off a fall live concert series Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. with rising indie star Ben Taylor, but the concert, which had been announced as postponed last week, has been canceled.
"We rarely experience a concert cancellation and regret the inconvenience this has caused," said Kate Fletcher, the Strand's marketing and community relations manager.
The son of James Taylor and Carly Simon, Ben Taylor’s life has always been centered on music. His acclaimed previous releases include his debut album, “Famous Among the Barns”; “Another Run Around The Sun”; and “Listening,” which was released Aug. 14 and is available on both CD and vinyl.
Taylor’s memorable melodies, immaculate acoustic guitar playing and insightful, honest lyrics have been captivating fans across the country. His songwriting creates music that defies genre definitions, merging the sounds and styles of rock, pop and folk. Taylor has performed on national television shows and was featured on an “A&E Biography.” He also made his acting debut with a recurring role on NBC’s “American Dreams” as Cal, a struggling singer/songwriter. He has toured extensively for years with artists such as Blues Traveler, Sheryl Crow, Ziggy Marley and Dar Williams.
