Come meet the talking scarecrow Saturday, October 13th at Nativity’s 6th Annual Harvest Festival. Nativity Lutheran Church is located at 179 Old County Road, in Rockport. Ms Scarecrow has been taking care of the local fields and gardens in the Rockport area and after a busy summer she will take a holiday and come to the Harvest Festival. She is excited about the activities but she is especially looking forward to the apple cider and homemade donuts by Ralph Miller. She plans to do some of her shopping at the Tag Sale and Silent Auction. A new attraction this year is the Ladies Boutique, Ms Scarecrow is sure that she will find just the right gifts for the coming holidays.

The Harvest Festival begins at 9:00 am and runs to 1:00 pm. Starting at 12:30, a half hour before closing, all Tag Sale items will be half price. The Silent Auction this year will feature purple “old vine” Wedgewood, Lenox Spice Houses, a carving set by Anton Wingen, a hand carved nativity set by Jim Shore and dozens of LP’s. There will be jams, jellies, pies, breads and cookies for sale. Sue Ann Moore will have her famous quilted table runners, and the ladies have been busy making warm knitted items for the coming winter months. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to New Hope for Women, Rockland and Lutheran Social Services. Come spend a few hours Saturday, October 13th at the Harvest Festival. You will have fun talking with Ms. Scarecrow, shopping for crafts and baked goods, and finding bargains at the Tag Sale and Silent Auction. Plus, you will have helped two worthy organizations in the community both locally and regionally.
