Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery hosts holiday bazaar

Union — Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery, of Union, is hosting its third annual Holiday Bazaar Saturday and Sunday Dec. 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local food producers will feature holiday selections paired with wines and spirits. Savor free tastings while shopping from 11 local craft artisans.

There will be an opportunity to taste local food paired with this year’s vintage wines and spirits. Appleton Creamery will be sampling an array of artisan cheese handcrafted with the milk from their goat herd and local cow and sheep dairies. Barred Owl Creamery will feature organic goat and sheep cheeses including feta, aged cheese, and flavored chevre. Ever tried homemade marshmallows? Maine Marshmallow creates all natural artisan marshmallows from a blend natural of Maine sugars and organic ingredients. A selection of pastries will be available from the Village Bakery. Half Moon Farm will have an assortment of chutneys, crackers, and crafts.

Artist Julia Ventresco, of OneWomanStudio, recycles feed and grain bags into totes, backpacks, and purses. Enjoy shopping with artisan Penelope Olson, of Apo Chromata Fiber Studio, featuring handspun natural colored, hand-dyed yarns and accessories from Maine-grown sheep's wool. Long-time weaver Marion Gray will have a wide selection of baskets at the holiday bazaar including bread baskets, wine baskets, market baskets, and collectible miniatures. G & L Float Rope Creations will be selling float rope baskets and mats. Just in time for Christmas, Brae Maple Farm has created needle felted ornaments; sheep, donkeys, golden retrievers, and cats all made from wool raised on their farm. Hamish Bodine will be selling a variety of African art work with all proceeds going to support Go! Malawi.
