Rockport — ArtLab at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art will be bursting with creativity during the next few months, with monthly ArtLabs for All Ages and ArtCamps and workshops for kids.

The June ArtLab for All Ages will explore Portrait Duets Saturday, June 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at CMCA, 162 Russell Ave. Participants will partner with a child, parent, friend or new ArtLab buddy and draw their portraits. Partners will then trade their drawings and complete the portraits in mixed media, in their own styles. The workshop is free and everyone is welcome. All materials will be provided.

This summer, CMCA is offering weeklong morning ArtCamp for children age 6 to 10; and three-day afternoon Teen Workshops for age 11 to 13. These programs are filling fast, but there are still five ArtCamp sessions and two Teen Workshops with openings. For full information and to register, visit cmcanow.org. CMCA members receive a discount on ArtCamp and Teen Workshop fees; limited scholarships are available.

ArtLab is made possible in part thanks to support from Camden National Bank, Harbor Square Gallery, the Milton and Sally Avery Art Foundation and individual donors. The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is a nonprofit organization advancing contemporary art in Maine through exhibitions and educational programs.
