Empty Bowl supper moved to Dec. 18

Dec 17, 2012
Camden Hills Regional High School art students make the bowls for the school’s annual Empty Bowl Supper.

Rockport — Camden Hills Regional High School’s Empty Bowl Club will host the annual Empty Bowl Dinner and silent auction a day later — Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wave Café of the school, Route 90. The postponement is due to the inclement weather Dec. 17.

To raise money for local food pantries, students and staff make more than 300 clay bowls and serve a simple supper of soups and breads. Each guest takes home a bowl as a reminder that until hunger is eliminated, there will be empty bowls in the worlds needing to be filled.

The suggested donation is $8, $25 for a family of four. The Winter Choral Concert, also rescheduled, will follow the dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Strom Auditorium.
