Owls Head — A large number of citizens turned out April 21 at the Owls Head Community Center for a lasagna dinner, raising about $900 for the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry.

More dinners are planned. On Sunday, April 29, the Adas Yoshuron Synagogue on Willow Street in Rockland will offer a Jewish buffet from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Rockland Congregational Church on Limerock Street will hold a chicken pot pie supper Monday, April 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. Brownies are also anticipated.

Funds support the food pantry, which is a collaboration of local faith communities. The pantry provides food staples for more than 40 area families. It also provides help with home heating and other services to those in need.

Rustica donated a large lasagna to the Owls Head dinner and Salt Bay Cafe in Damariscotta gave a tiramisu cake. Sweets and Meats gave the pantry a discount on bread for the event.
