Daniel Dunkle writes a weekly humor column called "Stranger Than Fiction" about his life as a journalist, husband and father.

He lives in Rockland, Maine with his wife, Christine, his 11-year-old son, Wesley, and his 7-year-old daughter, Samantha.

He is news editor for Courier Publications.

Dunkle has lived in Rockland since 1998 when he was hired as a reporter for The Courier-Gazette. From 2004 to 2008, he was the editor of The Republican Journal in Belfast. He also served for a year as the editor of The Waldo Independent.

His columns and movie reviews have appeared in local newspapers for several years.
