Stell joins studio tour

Sep 04, 2014
“Undersea Life” is an approximately 5-inch square enamel by Stell.

Camden — Enamels by Stell is included this year in the Midcoast Maine Arts & Artisans Tour Friday through Sunday, Sept. 12 through 14. Stell Shevis' studio and gallery at 80 Elm St./Route 1, diagonally across from Renys, will both be open during the tour.

In addition to enameled work, prints and paintings will be on view as well; and a few ceramic pieces from her “clay period” will be displayed on lower shelves and at lower prices. Stell said she signed up to be on the tour partly as an incentive to tidy up years of accumulated work and other stuff in the workshop and gallery.

Fifteen studios from Lincolnville to Appleton to Warren will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the three-day tour; look for the pink banners at each location. For more information, call 594-2580 or visit artisanstour.org.
