Rockland — A 35-year-old operations manager from Staples in Rockland has been charged with felony theft, according to Detective Sgt. Christopher Young of the Rockland Police Department.

Orrin Bimpson of China was given a summons Oct. 17 for creating false returns that never existed and pocketing the money, said Young. Bimpson is accused of stealing a little more than $1,000, police said.

The charge was the result of a lengthy investigation, Young said.

Bimpson will have an initial court appearance in Knox County Superior Court on the felony charge in January, Young said.
