Stamps, card-making in the ArtLab
Rockport — ArtLab instructor Sandy Weisman will lead a free stamping and card-making workshop as the next ArtLab for All Ages Saturday, Nov. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 162 Russell Ave. Participants will learn how to make their own stamps and use them to create unique collections of handmade gift cards. All supplies will be provided, and the workshop is open to everyone.
Weisman is the former director of gallery education at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and creator of Looking to Learn, a collaborative program with school art educators that uses contemporary art as a gateway to imagination and creative skill building. ArtLab is made possible in part by support from Camden National Bank, the Milton and Sally Avery Art Foundation, the Davis Family Foundation and individual donors. CMCA’s major media sponsor is Maine Home + Design magazine.
The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is a nonprofit organization advancing contemporary art in Maine through exhibitions and educational programs. Exhibition galleries are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit cmcanow.org.
